    Autodesk University Russia 2019

    On October 1-3, the Autodesk University Russia 2019 conference was held in the central space of the Moscow School of Management Skolkovo. AU Russia includes new and traditional Autodesk solutions, communication with industry leaders, technical knowledge from key experts in BIM and generative design, search for solutions for specific business problems and, of course, a look into the future and an understanding of the prospects that open up in various industries.

    Autodesk University Russia 2019 was opened by Jack Doxey, Vice President of Autodesk for the development of digital and electronic sales channels. In his speech, he told about how technology can positively affect the future of the planet and humanity. In support of his words, Jack Doxey spoke about the amazing projects, the creators of which are making the future of the Earth better:

    1. Sarcophagus for the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, which will allow in the next 100 years to keep and in parallel gradually neutralize the contents of the reactor;
    2. Cement plants Claudius Peters, which have reduced emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere;
    3. Jet Propulsion Laboratory, which released a lunar rover capable of making a scientific breakthrough;
    4. Holding Royal BAM Group, which made work at a construction site 20% safer.

    This year, the practice of applying BIM at the construction site is one of the main topics of Autodesk University Russia 2019. What solutions will help to digitize the construction site and make it part of the BIM process? You could learn about it at the Technology Exhibition. Metropolis specialists - Alla Seryogina, Svetlana Parkhomenko, Sergey Bryuzgin, Pavel Pantyushin, Denis Ivanov, Dmitry Goydenko, Evgeny Sumarokov, Oleg Melnik, Artem Pechkurov - attended AU Russia 2019.

    The conference program was very rich on each day. In addition to informative reports and speeches, there was also a lot of time to communicate with partners and colleagues in an informal setting.

    The colleagues noted the presentation “BIMLIB 2.0: CAD-independent platform for cost engineering based on a neural network”. BIMLIB 2.0 is a digital platform for quickly determining the cost of building materials and equipment. The neural network determines the specification of materials and equipment included in the project, and delivers to the designer data on their cost and availability in the selected region.

    Another relevant topic was raised in the report "Cloud BIM Manager - online quality control of Autodesk Revit models in the web interface". Konstantin Zhukoven told how to use free open source software to collect, analyze, and manage data from Revit models online.

    On October 2, within the framework of the conference, a presentation was made by our colleague Alexander Ignatovich, Programmer in the Software Development department of Metropolis . The topic of the report was “Automation with Revit in the Cloud. How can Forge Design Automation for Revit be useful? In his presentation, Alexander talked about how the new Forge platform API called Design Automation for Revit allows a programmer to create cloud-based web applications that can generate, modify and read Revit project data, and how you can free your data from "desktop shackles". In his report, Alexander analyzed the main features of this component and examples of its implementation.

    All participants and guests of Autodesk University Russia 2019 noted the high level of organization of the event, as well as friendly atmosphere and rich professional program.
