The Luzhniki Grand Sports Arena received the BREEAM certificate of the "Interim design stage". BREEAM certification is one of the most well-known and widespread methods for assessing the environmental performance of buildings, which defines standards for sustainable design and construction, and also makes it possible to compare different buildings in terms of their level of environmental impact.
During pre-certification, the stadium building was assessed on 10 parameters, with particular attention paid to waste management, water consumption, and construction phase management.
The final certification of the arena will take place at the end of 2016.
