On March 31, Pyotr Korsakov, Head of Group in Structural Engineering department at Metropolis, together with Andrey Teplykh, Deputy General Director of SCAD SOFT LLC, took part in the webinar “Nonlinear calculations for the maximum design earthquake (MDE) in SCAD ++”.
During the webinar, using the example of the building of the Choreographic Academy in Sevastopol, Pyotr has spoken about how the calculation for the MDE was carried out taking into account the dampers in a physically nonlinear setting using the SCAD ++ complex. This software package only recently has announced the possibility of solving such problems. However, thanks to the prompt work of Metropolis specialists and SCAD ++ technical support, it was possible to perform such a complex calculation.
The calculations has made it possible to present a picture of damage to the elements, as well as to analyze in detail the most loaded elements. The object received a positive conclusion from the Main State Expertise.
