    World Urban Forum 10

    From 8 to 13 February 2020, Abu Dhabi held World Urban Forum 10 - the largest international event on urban development created by the United Nations in 2001 to discuss the most pressing challenges of cities around the world, including sustainable development, urbanization, overcoming the negative effects of climate changes. The theme of the forum in 2020 was “Cities of Opportunity: Connecting Culture and Innovation”.


    This year, Russia took part in the congress for the first time, and the Moscow Urban Forum was the operator of the participation. The stand of Moscow was the largest within the exposition of the World Urban Forum and already the day before the opening it became a point of attraction for guests. The interactive stand included a business program area, a lounge area stylized as Zaryadye Park with living plants, a multimedia complex “Map of Moscow” showing Moscow projects on a city map at a scale of 1:7400, a model of the Big City at a scale of 1:400 representing the development of the territory and the One Tower project, an interactive "scanner" representing the key objects of the capital.



    The business program of the stand was held from 9 to 11 February, each day was devoted to a separate area of ​​urban development: the quality of the urban environment, technology and transport, culture and tourism. International experts such as Guy Perry, Vice President for Urban Planning and Design, McKinsey & Company, Federico Paralotto, Director, Mobility in Chain, Greg Lindsay, Head of Mobility, NewCities Foundation, Vilma Yurkute, director, Alserkal arts quarter, and other forum participants took part in the discussion of sustainable development strategies at the Moscow booth.


    Metropolis has always shown great interest in significant industry events in the world. The delegates of the forum from the company were Mohamed Nasser, Commercial Director, and Alla Seryogina, Marketing Director. The attention of foreign colleagues was also attracted by the objects in the design of which Metropolis participated, in particular the Rhythmic Gymnastics Palace of Irina Viner-Usmanova and the Luzhniki Grand Sports Arena. Mohamed Nasser actively interacted with the participants of the forum's business program and spoke about the possibilities of designing technically complex objects.
