2025 was a milestone year for Metropolis, rich in business events. We celebrated our 20th anniversary at the country's main sports arena, participated in over 10 major industry events, once again became the number one employer in architectural and construction design, launched a careers website, were awarded the "Design Bureau of the Year" award in the INDUSTRY LEADERS category of the Best for Life Award, became the only company in Russia to have won seven engineering Oscars (100+ Awards), and our NAVKA Arena project was commissioned and welcomed its first spectators this spring. But first things first!
PROFESSIONAL RECOGNITION
19 Metropolis employees were awarded the title of "Professional Engineer of Russia". The company also ranked among the top five organizations by number of winners this year and was awarded a letter of thanks from RosSNIO. The top 5 nominations by number of winners include "Construction and Construction Industry", in which 19 of the 55 laureates are employees of the Metropolis company.
Opened in January, the NAVKA ARENA Ice Palace was a finalist in the "Concept of the Year" category of the Sport Business Consulting Award. In March, the project team received a commendation from the Moscow Government from Rafik Zagrutdinov, Head of the Moscow Department of Civil Construction, and Olympic ice dancing champion Tatyana Navka, in connection with the complex's official opening. That same day, the arena hosted its first ice show, "The Scarlet Flower".
The Metropolis team once again confirmed the high status of its design solutions by receiving two awards at the 100+ Awards 2025. The Sevastopol Opera and Ballet Theatre became the only facility in Russia to win three engineering Oscars (Best BIM Model of a Building - 2023, Best Architectural Solution: Construction Project - 2025, and Best Structural Solution: Construction Project - 2025), while Metropolis became the only company in Russia to win seven engineering Oscars.
In 2025, the professional community recognized our colleagues' contributions to the industry with special honor.
Muhamed Nasser, Managing Partner of Metropolis, was awarded the medal "For Contribution to the Development of Science and Technology in Seismic Engineering".
Alexander Vorozhbitov, CEO of Metropolis, was awarded the "Honorary Mentor" award from the Russian Ministry of Construction for his support and contribution to educational projects.
SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
We traditionally continue to support and develop educational projects. For the third year, Metropolis has been the initiator and strategic partner of the "Architecture, Design, Construction, and Housing and Utilities" program.
In 2025, this program expanded its scope again: the project encompassed 20 industry-specific universities in 17 Russian cities, from Kaliningrad to Khabarovsk. 112 teams expressed their intention to compete, but only 81 were able to solve the case and participate in the qualifying round. Based on the results of 12 qualifying rounds, the top 14 teams from 11 cities across the country advanced to the finals. Over 50 Metropolis experts from various cities and 56 university faculty members participated in all stages.
We continue our direct collaboration with industry-specific universities, including once again serving as the general partner of the SPbGASU TIM Championship.
In 2024, Metropolis developed and pioneered a new thesis defense format at SPbGASU. This format involves a comprehensive group defense by a project team, which aligns with the real-world practices of design firms and helps bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and the practical demands of the labor market already during the training phase.
In 2025, our company allocated several real-world projects for comprehensive work, including a hotel in Moscow and a clinic and art museum in St. Petersburg, on which 16 students actively collaborated. Metropolis employees served on the state examination committee evaluating students' theses prepared using the new format.
In June, several of our colleagues successfully defended their comprehensive thesis projects. Two more project teams defended theirs at the end of December.
In 2025, Metropolis supported the architectural and engineering studio "ArchEng", founded by a group of students from the St. Petersburg Polytechnic University and Moscow State University of Civil Engineering. The project's founders and many participants are winners and active participants of the CASE-IN International Engineering Championship.
Metropolis became a strategic partner of the studio, and its employees conducted lectures and master classes in the architecture and design tracks, as well as in the school program.

DEVELOPING THE INSTITUTE OF GENERAL DESIGN IN RUSSIA AND TRANSMITTING EXPERTISE
The 100+ TechnoBuild International Forum and Exhibition continues to advance the development of the general design institute in Russia, a topic first initiated by Metropolis in 2024.
In 2025, Metropolis organized the industry session "General Design: An Open Dialogue of Industry Leaders", which brought together the founders and executives of six leading Russian design companies to continue this critically important dialogue.
Key challenges facing companies in the construction industry serve as a catalyst for such discussions, stimulating the unification of efforts aimed at developing and standardizing the market, and helping to identify pressing issues and contradictions.
Ten speakers from Metropolis also spoke at key industry sessions as part of the 100+ TechnoBuild business program, sharing their expertise in design, including non-standard and innovative solutions.
Our colleagues regularly speak at international and national industry events and serve on expert committees and juries for prestigious awards and competitions, setting the agenda for construction and architectural design.
20 YEARS TOGETHER
On June 20, 2025, a gala reception in honor of Metropolis' 20th anniversary was held at the Luzhniki Grand Sports Arena in Moscow. The company's anniversary was an opportunity to reflect on the fruits of many years of work, thank the team and partners, celebrate what has been accomplished, and plan even greater things.
The venue was chosen deliberately – the celebration took place at the country's main arena, the reconstruction of which took over 100 colleagues four years. The evening consisted of several parts: the immersive performance "Dream!", a script developed specifically for Metropolis, kicked off the evening for partners. For the company's employees, the celebration began with a tour of the Grand Sports Arena's roof – in honor of the company's anniversary, we offered the team a glimpse of the true scale of their work. The two scenarios synced at a single point – the turf of the country's main football arena – and the evening continued in the stadium's VIP box.
The evening culminated in a grand raffle – Alexander Vorozhbitov, CEO of Metropolis, awarded three coveted tickets for the winners, each for a helicopter flight, a fighter jet flight, and a tour of the Baikonur Cosmodrome for a space launch.
THE LONG-AWAITED LAUNCH
On November 27, our colleague Igor Pomazan, the lucky winner of the Baikonur tour, witnessed the manned launch of the Soyuz MS-28 spacecraft. The sheer scale of the event and the sheer scale of the engineering ingenuity captivated our entire team, but Igor in particular: "It was truly valuable for me to witness unique engineering ideas, technologies, and their implementation. I wouldn't have seen anything like this anywhere else. All of this reflects the powerful intellectual potential of our people", he notes.
For us, this event symbolizes the completion of a large-scale project and the anniversary year of Metropolis.
CELEBRATE TOGETHER
And of course, the Metropolis team celebrated New Year's corporate parties from Moscow to Novosibirsk. As per tradition, employees who had reached the company's 10th anniversary were awarded. As part of the celebration, Metropolis held a large New Year's raffle. 71 gifts were raffled off across all offices, including an iPad Pro 13 M5 nano glass, Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max, Apple Watch Series 11, Apple AirPods 4, and more.
We extend our warmest congratulations to all our colleagues and partners for the upcoming 2026! We are grateful for your support and cooperation this past year. Together, we are implementing unique projects and building the future. May the new year bring you 365 opportunities for magical moments!
