The Drama and Comedy Theater in Cherkessk is a unique place of attraction that could become a new business card of the city without losing authenticity and connection with the context.

While developing the visual image of the theater, the architects of the Metropolis team tried to get away from the image of Elbrus, which is excessively often quoted in the new architecture of the region. The need to choose an easy-to-read visual metaphor that is close and understandable to residents and visitors of the city directed towards a more subtle and in-depth work with the material. Inspired by the stunningly beautiful nature of the republic, its crystal mountain rivers and powerful harsh cliffs, allowed us to transfer impressions into facade materials.

Rotary perforated bricks are replaced by glass blocks, creating a unique play of light and shadow in the interior, vaguely resembling the sparkle of a mountain river spray in the sun.

The shape of the building is dictated by the association with a mountain waterfall breaking through the rocks, as well as the architecture of the fortress towers preserved in the region, and today they retain their greatness.

The interior space is designed to be as free, open and welcoming as possible, while maintaining the possibility of multifunctional use.

The Metropolis company has developed architectural and technological solutions at the concept stage within the framework of the project.
