    13 Metropolis employees are winners of the «Engineer of the Year – 2023» competition

    In February 2023, the Russian and International Unions of Scientific and Engineering Public Associations, the Academy of Engineering Sciences named after A.M. Prokhorov and the Interregional Public Fund for the Promotion of Scientific and Technological Progress summed up the results of the XXIV All-Russian competition «Engineer of the Year». The competition was traditionally held in two versions: «Engineering Art of Young Specialists» - for young professionals participating in the competition under the age of 30, and «Professional Engineers» - for competition participants with at least 5 years of experience in engineering positions.


    The competition is the largest social project implemented in Russia with the aim of identifying and disseminating the best practices and achievements of engineering personnel who are the best in their field of activity.


    The jury and expert commissions of the competition in 2023 included famous Russian scientists and academicians of the Russian Academy of Sciences, designers, engineers, representatives of ministries and departments, heads of major enterprises and engineering public associations.


    This year the jury members received more than 70 thousand applications from 59 regions of Russia. In December 2023, according to the results of the first round of the All-Russian stage of the competition, about a thousand candidates reached the finals. According to the results of the second round, 416 participants became laureates of the All-Russian competition «Engineer of the Year», including 280 in the «Professional Engineers» version and 136 in the «Engineering Art of Young Specialists» version.


    13 employees of the Metropolis company from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan and Nizhny Novgorod became winners of the competition in the categories «Professional Engineers» and «Engineering Art of Young Specialists» within the category «Construction and Construction Industry».



    The winners were awarded a diploma and a commemorative medal «Laureate of the Competition» and entered into the register of professional engineers of Russia according to the «Professional Engineers» version:


    1. Elena Kriger, deputy head of the electrical networks department, Moscow
    2. Ivan Ishchenko, chief specialist of electrical networks department, Moscow
    3. Olga Portnova, head of the Ventilation and air conditioning group, Kazan

    The winners, awarded with a diploma and a commemorative medal «Laureate of the Competition» and included in the register of professional engineers of Russia according to the «engineering art of young people» version:


    1. Arslan Bammatov, leading engineer of the constructive section, Moscow
    2. Timur Usmanov, design engineer of the communications section, Moscow
    3. Sergey Bravkov, HVAC design engineer, St. Petersburg.

    Winners of the 1st round according to the «Professional Engineers» version, included in the «Register of Professional Engineers of Russia»:


    1. Fedor Isaev, сhief constructor of the project, Moscow
    2. Nikolay Utemov, chief HVAC specialist, Nizhny Novgorod
    3. Alexander Fedotov, head of the automated control system group, Nizhny Novgorod
    4. Pavel Yamov, communications section group leader, St. Petersburg

    Participants awarded the diploma of the winner of the first round of the competition according to the «Engineering Art of the Young» version:


    1. Artem Vershinin, head of the Ventilation and air conditioning group, Moscow
    2. Enge Suleymanova, leading HVAC engineer, Kazan
    3. Dmitry Shiktorov, leading engineer of automated control system, St. Petersburg.

    On February 29, a reception was held at the President Hotel to honor the finalists of the Competition, during which more than 30 messages were read to the winners. According to the President of the Russian and International Unions of Scientific Research Institutes and the chairman of the competition jury, Academician Yuri Gulyaev, the awards are being presented in the year of the 300th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the «Engineer of the Year» and «Hope of Russia» competitions were included in the «Science of Winning» initiative of the Decade of Science and Technology, announced by decree of the President of Russia.


    «Only with the active participation of engineers is it possible to successfully implement projects for the digital transformation of society, the construction of modern models and developments, the technological re-equipment of domestic industry, medicine, energy, transport and many other industries»,, - Gulyaev noted.


    Words of support to the competition laureates were also sent by the Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko, the Mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin, the Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Economic Policy Andrey Kutepov, the Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Tatyana Semyonova and the governors of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation.


    The results of the competition once again showed the professionalism and expertise of the Metropolis team. Last time, 6 company employees became engineers of the year, and this year – 13.
