100+ AWARDS celebrates the best engineering and architectural solutions and achievements in civil and industrial construction.

Recently all of this year’s nominees have been announced. Out of 156 applications the expert council selected only 67. We are proud to say all 7 applications submitted by Metropolis have been chosen by the experts and shortlisted for 4 categories.

«Best engineering solution - Non-Residential High-Rise or Unique Building»

2 of our projects have been nominated for this category. 

The multifunctional administrative and business complex Neva Towers consists of two tall buildings located on sections 17 and 18 of the Moscow International Business Center "Moscow City". The peculiarity of this project is the 4-storey stylobate that connects these buildings. The participants of the project include Renaissance Development, Renaissance Construction, SPEECH, HOK, FXCollaborative and Hirsch Bedner Associates.

This complex is included into the global database of tall buildings of The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH).

The other nominated project is the residential complex Zilart Tower. This 150-meter building with 40 storeys combines glass surfaces with triangular metal pylons on the façade, which will make the building stand out from other LCD buildings on the peninsula. LSR Group acted as a developer in this project, and SPEECH were the architects.

In both projects, Metropolis team of design engineers was in charge of the concept, project and detailed documentation for internal engineering systems and special sections.

«Best Structural Solution - Residential Building»

This category also has 2 our projects shortlisted;

Multifunctional complex Iskra Park consists of residential building, business center and administrative building. The peculiarity and the challenge of the project is that the objects are built right above the subway line. The residential building is a rectangular composition of 10 multi-storey sections, which form a closed courtyard, separated from the street. The business center has a crystalline façade that effectively contrasts with the surrounding buildings and makes it look like a diamond. This and other architectural solutions were made by SPEECH, while Hals Development acted as a developer. The Metropolis team was involved in the project to develop the concept and design documentation for the structural and engineering solutions of the complex. Also, our specialists have developed measures to ensure energy efficiency and a project for the organization of construction.

Another finalist in this category is a premium residential complex Zilart Diamond. It consists of a 22-storey building, a 4-storey stylobate and a 4-storey underground parking. The project implies conjunction of the five towers, which have decorative polygonal aluminum panels that create a memorable image. The Metropolis team developed the concept, project and detailed documentation for the structural solutions and internal engineering systems of the complex. LSR Group were a developer of the project, architectural concept was created by Neutelings Riedijk Architects, and architectural solutions were developed by Meganom bureau.

Another category with our project nominated.

This project is an ambitious reconstruction of GES-2 power plant into a modern cultural center in the heart of Moscow. For this project Metropolis team developed the concept, project, design and detailed documentation, realized structural solutions and elaborated internal engineering systems and external networks. The other participants of the project include V-A-C Foundation, Renzo Piano Building Workshop and APEX.

«Best BIM-Model of a Residential Building»

Another 2 of our projects were shortlisted for this category.

Residential complex D1 consists of three monolithic towers and a stylobate part where infrastructure facilities will be located. Curtain facades made of high-strength aluminum panels in combination with natural stone provide buildings with high operational characteristics and give new buildings a modern and effective appearance. Metropolis specialists have developed design documentation for internal engineering systems and energy efficiency. Architectural solutions were developed by the KAMEN ARCHITECTS bureau. The developer of the project is MR Group, and the structural solutions were developed by GK «Olimproekt».

The City Bay residential complex features a permeable New York City block structure that creates both courtyard and neighborhood comfort. Multi-storey buildings from 8 to 55 floors will fully satisfy the current needs of buyers in the format of housing. This small town has it all: a massive parkland with large trees, its own micro-forest with scented herbs, picnic lawns, and a boulevard that will become a favorite place for walking. The Metropolis company carried out the development of structural solutions, as well as internal engineering systems. The other participants include MR Group, Jaime Beriestain Studio, ARTEZA and KAMEN ARCHITECTS.
