The Rhythmic Gymnastics Palace in Luzhniki won the construction Oscar in Cannes

The Rhythmic Gymnastics Palace of Irina Viner-Usmanova in Luzhniki won the prestigious award in the field of development and architecture MIPIM Awards 2020. The sports center won in the category "Best sports and cultural facility".

The Moscow Palace of rhythmic gymnastics competed with the Guardia Arts Center in Beijing (China), the Congress Center building in Metz (France) and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London (Great Britain).

The best projects from all over the world were named in 11 different nominations. 228 entries from 45 countries took part in the MIPIM Awards 2020.

The project of the Rhythmic Gymnastics Palace became an innovative project in the field of sports design, as it included not only sports functions, but also combined a block of temporary accommodation for athletes (a hotel), a medical rehabilitation center, a SPA zone, doping control rooms and other auxiliary and service areas. The building of the Rhythmic Gymnastics Center meets all the international standards and can host world-class competitions.

Another distinctive feature of the project is cross-platform. To ensure joint one-time work and coordination of the project, Metropolis has developed solutions for the integration of specialized software systems of more than 40 project participants into a single BIM model.

The unique approach of the Metropolis company in terms of ensuring the microclimate of the main arena is the method of mathematical CFD modeling. Thanks to this method, an optimal solution was found that allows modeling the microclimate of the arena for specific purposes and the number of audience - local or world competitions, concerts, conferences.

Congratulations to the project team for the coherence and efficiency in their work: TPO "Pride" - architectural concept and solutions; Mosinzhproekt - technical customer, general contractor, general designer; Metropolis - designer of structural, engineering and multimedia solutions; USM Development is the investor of the project.
